A high-achieving and lively family in New Albany, OH is seeking a long-term nanny to nurture their four children aged 4.5, 3, 22 months, and 4 months. With their eldest child in school for the majority of the day and plans for their 3-year-old to attend school half days 3 days per week starting mid-January, your primary care focuses on their dynamic adorable 22-month-old and sweet 4-month-old.
Their 4.5-year-old daughter has an independent, curious, and energetic spirit. She is loving, sensitive, and highly intelligent, currently thriving in pre-K. On the brink of reading and solving math problems, she is remarkably self-sufficient and enjoys tackling new challenges. She's always up for an adventure-whether it's splashing in mud puddles, climbing trees, or zooming around on her bike and scooter.
Their 3-year-old son is initially shy around new faces but quickly warms up to reveal his lovable, thoughtful nature. He is very intelligent and playful and is working on emotional regulation and listening skills. He focuses very well and will happily engage in activities like assembling 100-piece puzzles or playing with trains on his own. You can also find him racing around playing chase and dragon, sharpening his throwing, catching, and kicking skills, and learning to pedal his bike like a pro.
Their 22-month-old daughter is a bundle of joy, radiating curiosity and strong opinions. She's entering the adorable "no" phase and is just beginning to string words together. She adores reading, playing dress-up, and exploring the world around her. She's in her element building with Magnatiles, is getting creative with her coloring and painting, and is learning to ride on her balance bike.
Their 4-month-old son is a smiley, cheerful baby who is already sitting up. Sleeping 12 hours through the night, he is working on establishing a longer, more predictable nap schedule. He is currently breastfed but will transition to formula and solids after six months.
Mom and Dad are deeply committed to fostering a high level of emotional engagement with their children, striving to remain present and attentive in their daily lives. They hold high expectations for their children, emphasizing the importance of grit, and responsibility, and carrying themselves with respect and self-confidence. As parents, they aim to strike a balance between being authoritative and maintaining a gentle, nurturing approach to discipline.
Mom is a dedicated stay-at-home parent, while Dad supports the family through his work and will be in and out of the home throughout the day. While not required they strongly prefer someone who is able to accompany them on family trips. Their travels typically include a week-long visit to Disney in January, a trip to Colorado in August, beach trips to Florida and South Carolina, and occasional visits to family in Virginia.
The ideal candidate for this family will be educationally focused, skilled at balancing structure with creativity to foster a nurturing and engaging environment, and disciplined, and emotionally mature. A high-energy approach and the stamina to keep up with four young children are critical for matching their active and curious nature. This family is seeking someone who thrives on creating enriching experiences, such as visits to the zoo, science museum, local parks, and nature trails-ensuring activities are both fun and age-appropriate.
While not a requirement, a background in or familiarity with the Montessori philosophy is highly valued to encourage independence, self-directed learning, and a love for exploration. In their bustling, dynamic home, the family seeks an adaptable, proactive, and detail-oriented candidate who embraces a "see-a-need, fill-a-need" mindset, works seamlessly with Mom as a collaborative partner, and fosters open, clear communication and the ability to seamlessly and effectively manage responsibilities.
This individual's responsibilities span a spectrum of child-related tasks, from orchestrating fun, and educational activities, managing various child-related household tasks such as tidying, organizing children's areas, laundry, running occasional errands, light housekeeping, grocery shopping overseeing before and after-school routines, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness in play areas and rooms, planning and preparing meals and snacks, laundry, preparing bottles for the child, washing/sterilizing bottles and/or breast pump parts, and tidying children's common areas.
Qualifications
3 years of professional childcare experience
High school diploma
At least 21 years of age
Valid driver's license
Reliable and insured vehicle
Clean driving record
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Schedule
Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Flexibility is essential in this role to seamlessly adapt to evolving schedules.
Compensation
The family is offering $30-$40/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and is based upon 40 hours per week which equates to up to $1,200-$1,600 weekly, and an anticipated annual base income of up to $62k-$83k+/year. This position is paid legally, on a W-2, subject to regular deductions and withholdings as required by law.
Benefits
The family is providing a monthly healthcare stipend of $200, 10 days of paid vacation, 5 paid sick days, paid major holidays, and use of the nanny vehicle for on-the-job travel.
