Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable part-time babysitter to work alongside our full-time Au Pair to help care for our three girls during peak busy periods, playdates, and outings. The babysitter will primarily assist with the care of our oldest (5 years) and youngest (4 months) daughters. The Au Pair, a pediatric nurse from Germany, will oversee the 2-year-old's medical needs, and the babysitter will provide support as needed. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Au Pair in the care and supervision of the children, especially the 5-year-old and 4-month-old. Assist with daily activities such as playtime, feeding, and putting the children down for naps. Help manage and supervise playdates and outings, ensuring the children's safety and enjoyment. Support the Au Pair in the care of the 2-year-old during peak times, with the understanding that the Au Pair is responsible for medical care. Engage in age-appropriate activities, including crafts, reading, outdoor play, and educational games. Ensure the well-being of the children in a nurturing, attentive, and patient manner. Assist with light housekeeping related to the children (e. g., tidying up after meals or playtime, organizing toys, etc.). Communicate effectively with the Au Pair to ensure a seamless routine and understanding of the children's needs. Qualifications: Previous experience in babysitting or childcare, preferably with infants and toddlers. Knowledge of child development, especially for children under 5 years old. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team with the Au Pair. First aid and CPR certification preferred. Ability to remain calm and attentive in high-pressure situations, particularly when assisting with the 2-year-old's medical needs. Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours. A warm, caring, and positive demeanor when interacting with children. Additional Information: The babysitter will be required to follow any specific instructions or routines set by the Au Pair, especially concerning the care of the 2-year-old. Flexibility is important as the hours may vary based on the family's needs (playdates, outings, or during the busiest times of day).
