I share custody so I do not have my daughter everyday - hence flexible schedule. On the days I have her and I work, I need someone to get her from the bus stop, bring her home, help with homework, get her dinner and off to bed. I may work as late as 10 or 11 p.m. Other days I may be home by 8 p.m. If I have her on the weekends, I may need someone to take her to a friends party, or just play with her during the day.
