We are looking to build long-term relationships with nannies for our 3-year-old daughter and 1 mo old son. In the past this has worked well for us: we have hired a rotation of nannies, each taking a weekend(s) in a given month when they are available. This works well for coverage and to ensure everyone is happy with their schedule.
