Part Time Sitter For Two Children Ages 10 And 6

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about my family and our needs. We are searching for a kind, eager woman that enjoys children (either college age or older) to watch our two children part time so we can work. J. is 10 years old and very smart and independent. I. is 6 also independent, smart and funny. We have raised our kids with manners and to be self sufficient. Anyone that has watched them over the years has commented on how polite, kind and independent they are. As a mom I can go on and on but I won't ;) If you are interested, I'm happy to give contact info of previous sitters so you can hear yourself. About us: My husband works from home but has a very demanding job and so he cannot help with the kids until at least 6 p.m. and sometimes we need flexibility of someone that can stay an hour or two more. I'm an acupuncturist and herbalist with wellness centers in East Northport & West Islip. I work long hours Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and am not him until around 10:30 p.m. I have a wonderful staff but from time to time someone is sick or on vacation and I need to be able to go in when necessary. 90% of the time we need someone from either 2 or 3 (the latest) until 6 p.m. most nights, 7 or 8 p.m. on occasion. On occasion if you are also available the same hours Thursday or Friday that would be helpful! (It doesn't happen too often). Job duties: Pick the kids up from the bus, take them home, help them with homework or just keep them organized and make sure they do it, make easy dinners and feed the kids, take them to sports and pick them up, light housekeeping (vacuum, keep kids rooms neat and help THEM clean their rooms, do their laundry and put it away, clean up after dinner) occasional errands for the kids such as (light food shopping, taking them to buy some clothes locally, hosting play dates, dropping them off at friends houses for play dates). Summer time, same days however longer hours are available if you would like more work. We have a beautiful back yard with a pool and the kids friends are always in and out. They can all swim and you don't need to be in the pool with them but we need someone to watch them. You should be: Warm and friendly, eager to help where necessary, educated enough to help the kids with school. You should have your own transportation and be able to cook easy and healthy meals for the kids.
