My son is 5 years old and has some difficulty with me leaving the house. He cries as I leave the driveway and usually, for only a few minutes afterward. He's easily distracted by his toys, favorite movies, or a little snack. On the days I need care, Ill ideally get him to bed before I need to leave, but that won't always be possible. He loves any type of car/truck/construction vehicle. We let him watch some tv at night and his favorite movies are the minions, super Mario, and the Lego movie. He also has a speech delay. As his mom, I can understand 99% of what he's saying, but as someone does not use to his speech, it might be a learning curve. He's fine with repeating himself or taking you to whatever it is he's talking about. Overall, he's a very sweet and not very hyper kid, especially in the evening.
