Responsible, Proactive After-School Family Assistant Needed for Busy and Friendly Family in Pittsford, NY! Ages of Children: 16, 13, and 9 Start Date: ASAP Schedule: 20 hours guaranteed weekly, with the typical schedule falling M/T/Th 3pm-7pm, Wednesdays 2:30pm-7pm, and Fridays 1:30pm-5pm Compensation: $22-28+/h Benefits: Guaranteed hours, PTO, paid major holidays, sick days A busy professional family in Pittsford, NY is looking for a responsible, proactive, and friendly family assistant to support their three children: 16-year-old and 9-year-old daughters, and a 12-year-old son. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and able to take initiative with minimal direction. This position guarantees 20 hours per week, though the amount of hours worked per week may be less, with occasional days off while still receiving guaranteed pay. The weekly schedule is primarily set in advance, with occasional last-minute changes, all of which will fall within the set schedule and guaranteed hours. Responsibilities will include picking up the children from school, driving them to and from extracurricular activities like sports practices, tutoring, and appointments, as well as helping them transition from school to home. This family describes their children as active and independent. The 16-year-old daughter is on the quiet side, while their 12-year-old son is sporty and enjoys an active lifestyle. Their youngest daughter loves attention, and is chatty and outgoing! The ideal candidate will be able to engage with the children in a friendly and meaningful way, whether it's striking up a conversation with the quieter teenager or keeping the younger kids entertained and focused. One parent works from home, and will appreciate a candidate who can manage routines and keep the children out of the office during working hours. Light dishes and tidying up, encouraging the children to tidy up after themselves, and generally leaving the home in good condition before departing at the end of the day will be asked and appreciated. Additional duties will include running errands, grocery shopping, and providing light care for the family's two energetic Golden Doodles. A clean driving record and safe driving habits are essential for this role. A seasoned family assistant who can work independently, is proactive, and has a warm, approachable personality will be a wonderful fit. While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who is open to picking up additional hours during school breaks!
