A warm and friendly family in Penfield seeks a reliable, active nanny to care for their 5-year-old daughter and 2 -year-old son over the summer. This role is projected to commence Monday, June 2 and end on Friday, August 29. If you enjoy planning fun outings and can provide patient yet engaging care, this could be your perfect fit! Position Details Location: Penfield, NY Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (40+ hours/week, flexible for the right candidate) Compensation: $23-$28/hour (DOE) Commitment: Full-Time Summer position projected for Monday, June 2 - Friday, August 29 Children 5-year-old Girl: Previously experienced some medical challenges but is now healthy and energetic. She's shy at first, very empathetic, and loves hands-on play-especially when she can help out with tasks. She thrives with patient guidance and enjoys building confidence through interactive activities. 2 -year-old Boy: Sweet, inquisitive, and independent. He loves dinosaurs, cars, and puzzles, and he's happy to explore new things both indoors and outdoors. He's generally easygoing, engages well in imaginative play, and adores reading books. Key Responsibilities: Engaging Childcare Foster a playful, creative environment-both at home and on local outings (e.g., zoo, parks). Coordinate developmentally appropriate activities, including arts, crafts, outdoor play, or simple brain-building games. Provide occasional screen time if needed, keeping it balanced with other enriching pursuits. Daily Routines & Safety Prioritize the children's well-being, ensuring consistent supervision, safe play, and calm responses to any conflicts. Assist with mealtime routines (light meal/snack prep is appreciated). Stay vigilant about safety measures during outings, and feel comfortable handling public settings with two active kids. Collaboration & Communication Work cooperatively with parents, who sometimes work from home, while still maintaining an independent, organized flow to the day. Provide regular updates about each child's activities, moods, or notable achievements. Pet-Friendly Be comfortable around the family's friendly Golden Retriever. No major pet-care duties required beyond occasionally letting the dog out or ensuring she's safe when you take the children out. Ideal Candidate: Experience: Previous full-time nanny experience or early childhood work is strongly preferred. Must have a track record of reliability-the family needs consistent, daily support. Traits & Approach: Creative, athletic, and adaptable. Enjoys hands-on play and can keep up with both a helpful 5-year-old and a curious toddler. Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious-able to handle children confidently in public settings. Comfortable preparing simple meals/snacks, with an eye for nutrition. Personality: Empathetic, enthusiastic, and communicative. You can gently encourage a shy child, while also keeping an independent toddler safe and engaged. Other: Willingness to be flexible with scheduling, if needed. Comfort with a relaxed approach to screen time and snacks, balanced with active and educational pursuits.
