A growing family in Tribeca is seeking an experienced and professional nanny to join their household. They currently have a 3-year-old daughter and are expecting their second child in late April. The family values a proactive, energetic, and career-focused nanny who is passionate about child development and building strong relationships.
Start Date: Mid-February
Compensation: $30-$35/hour + Overtime after 40 hours + Health insurance or stipend provided. Transportation costs (e.g., parking, ferry) covered if applicable.
Schedule:
-Initial Schedule (First 2 Months): Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 AM-6 PM.
-Ongoing Schedule (Starting Late Spring): Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8 AM-6 PM. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Flexible with adjusting hours if needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Provide attentive care for the family's 3-year-old daughter and, eventually, the newborn. The family has a current nanny who will be on maternity leave starting mid-February and will return a couple of months later but will then work Tuesday-Thursday.
-Assist with school drop-offs (9 AM-12 PM), naptime, and afternoon activities, including speech therapy sessions (all walkable).
-Facilitate educational play, developmental activities, and baby sign language (familiarity preferred as their 3-year-old has some hearing loss). Fluency in ASL is not required, but familiarity with baby sign if a huge plus, also great if this person is familiar with speech pathology.
-Prepare light meals for the children (lunch and dinner).
-Perform light housekeeping duties, such as unloading the dishwasher. (No deep cleaning- a housekeeper is employed.)
-Occasionally assist with the family's two small dogs (e.g., taking them outside), though they have dog walkers.
-Travel with the family for occasional long weekends in the Hamptons is required, or rare domestic/international trips (trips outside of the Hamptons are not mandatory).
Candidate Requirements:
-Experience: Must have prior experience working with young children. Familiarity with hearing loss and baby sign language is a plus.
-Skills: Energetic, proactive, and resourceful. Must have excellent English communication skills (native or near-native proficiency). Strong organizational skills are required for tasks like booking classes and ordering groceries.
-Flexibility: Open to live-in or live-out arrangements, and the nanny will have their own bedroom.
-Driving/Swimming: Driving is not required (family uses Uber or mom drives). Swimming skills are necessary.
-Commitment: Seeking a long-term relationship with a career-focused nanny.
