A busy family on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced, proactive, and organized nanny/family assistant to care for their 4-year-old son and assist with household tasks. This is a long-term role, ideal for someone who is active, energetic, and familiar with the city. Schedule: School Year: Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM-7:00 p.m. On days when the child is not in school: 9:00 AM-7:00 p.m. Summer: Live-in schedule in Southampton. Compensation: $45-$50/hour (gross, on the books) with standard benefits, including overtime, two weeks' vacation, and negotiable perks like health insurance and a MetroCard. Responsibilities: Childcare: Provide attentive care for their 4-year-old son, who is in school from 9:00 AM-2:00 p.m. (or 3:00 p.m. some days). Prepare simple meals for him (e. g., grilled cheese, eggs, pasta). Tidy up after meals, maintain his room, organize clothes, and ensure his belongings are in order. Engage actively and energetically, keeping up with his active lifestyle. Household Assistance: Run errands, including groceries and Amazon returns. Handle family assistant tasks such as ordering household supplies. Unload/load the dishwasher, take out the trash, and ensure the home remains tidy. Additional Information: Driving: Required, particularly in Southampton during the summer. Travel: Not required, but flexibility to travel would be a bonus. Summer: Position transitions to live-in during summers in Southampton. If the candidate has a nearby residence, live-out may be an option. Cooking: Light, child-focused meal preparation. Languages: Knowledge of a second language is a bonus (Mandarin familiarity is appreciated but not required). Pets: No pets currently, but the family may get a dog in the future (must not be allergic). Ideal Candidate: Active, engaging, and able to keep up with an energetic 4-year-old. Familiar with navigating New York City and comfortable running errands in the area. Organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in both childcare and family assistant roles. Comfortable with a long-term commitment and flexible with live-in summers. Warm, reliable, and proactive, with a positive attitude. This position starts ASAP!
