A professional family in Tribeca is seeking an experienced a long-term, full-time nanny/house manager for their three children: a 5. 5-year-old boy, a 3. 5-year-old girl, and an 18-month-old girl. The role includes a traditional Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 pm, with flexibility to start later (around 6:45 or 7:00 am) and end earlier (around 6:00 pm) on certain days. Occasionally, the nanny may need to stay until around 8:00 p.m. if one parent is working late or traveling. The position is live-out during the school year and includes very occasional overnight care (about 2x per year), with a commitment on one Sunday afternoon per month from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to assist the father when the mom is traveling. In summer, the nanny is asked to join the family at their second home in Hudson Valley for about 1 week, with a private nanny suite provided. They may also ask the nanny to join the there for Spring Break as well.
The ideal candidate is a warm, mature, and reliable individual who can manage the household independently. Responsibilities include getting the children ready and out the door for school and picking them up after school. Their oldest is in school and activities until 5:30 p.m. most days, and the two youngest children are in school in January 9am-3 p.m. During school hours, which will be largely child-free, duties include tidying up, doing the children's laundry, organizing, meal prep for the kids, and maintaining household supplies. The nanny is not required to do deep cleaning, as the family has a housekeeper, but is expected to help with everyday tasks and manage the home. The family appreciates creativity in meal planning and someone who is proactive in food prep.
The ideal candidate should have childcare experience and the ability to command respect from the children. The ability to speak Spanish is a huge plus, but not required. While driving isn't required either, it's a bonus. This role is an opportunity to work with a welcoming family who values positivity. This family starts as soon as possible.
