Start: ASAP Age(s) of Child(ren): 17 month old and Newborn Schedule: 30-40 hours per week Compensation: $35+ Description: The Position We are seeking a caring and reliable nanny for a loving family with two young children: a 17-month-old and a newborn. This position is part-time, with 30 hours per week while the mom is at home and on maternity leave. The primary focus during this time will be caring for the 17-month-old, with occasional support for both children. When the mom returns to work, the position will transition to full-time, and the nanny will care for both children. The family is also open to starting with a full-time nanny/family assistant who will transition to nanny-specific duties once the mom returns to work. Responsibilities include maintaining the 17-month-old's daily routine (meals, naps, and activities), engaging in creative and age-appropriate activities, and fostering a loving, structured environment. Additional duties may include preparing meals for the children, managing light household tasks related to the kids, and supporting the family's needs as required. This individual will plan engaging activities to foster the 17-month-old's social and developmental growth while seamlessly balancing occasional care for the newborn. As the family transitions to full-time care, the nanny should be confident in managing both age groups, maintaining routines, and creating a nurturing environment for the children to thrive. Key qualities include flexibility, patience, and a collaborative approach to working alongside the mom and supporting the family's dynamic. Strong organizational skills, creativity, and a warm demeanor are essential, as is a proactive attitude toward planning activities and ensuring the children's needs are consistently met. Position Requirements Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional childcare experience, including infants and toddlers. Certification: Valid First Aid/CPR certification for infants and children. References: Excellent references from previous employers. Background Check: Clear background check. Communication: Strong communication skills in English. Driver's License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Age Group Experience: Skilled in caring for both infants and toddlers. Activity Planning: Ability to plan and engage in developmentally appropriate activities. Housekeeping: Willingness to perform light housekeeping related to the children. Non-Smoker: Must be a non-smoker. Transportation: Reliable transportation. Flexibility: Adaptability for part-time transitioning to full-time and occasional weekend or evening needs. Compensation and Benefits Pay: $35+/hour, competitive with experience.
