About the job
Hello! My husband and I have a 5 (almost 6) year-old who has non-verbal autism. He uses PECs and body language to communicate, though he's able to echo many words and he's working on learning more every day. We're looking for someone to help care for him a few days during the week while we work from home (we're flexible on the days/times but would like help at least twice a week). We're hoping to find someone with experience with special needs children (especially if you've previously worked with a nonverbal child or in a special needs classroom). We're hoping to find someone who will keep him engaged while they're with him and who has the patience and kindness to understand his communication challenges. A bit more about him: he loves playing in the backyard, counting, spelling, identifying butterflies, dinosaurs, and vehicles.
