JOB DESCRIPTION - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Primary Caregiver for Infants and Toddlers shall: 1. Reflect the Purpose of the School: Honor Christ in every interaction, activity, and care provided for infants and toddlers. 2. Create a Safe and Nurturing Environment: Provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment that supports children's emotional, physical, and cognitive development. 3. Promote Development: Foster physical, emotional, and cognitive development in a way that is appropriate for infants and toddlers. 4. Provide Individualized Care: Understand and respond to each child's unique needs, providing individualized attention to promote their growth and well-being. 5. Introduce Spiritual Growth: Introduce children to God's love through simple prayers, Bible stories, and Christian-based activities. 6. Maintain Classroom Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure that the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized, creating a secure environment for infants and toddlers to explore and learn. 7. Support Diapering and Toileting: Assist with diapering, potty training, and general hygiene needs in a respectful and loving manner. 8. Work with Parents: Maintain open and regular communication with parents, updating them on their child's progress, and addressing any concerns or special needs. 9. Monitor Developmental Milestones: Observe each child's growth and development, providing updates on milestones and areas where support is needed. 10. Respond to Behavioral Concerns: Address behavioral concerns with loving techniques, helping to create a structured and calm environment for children to feel safe and secure. 11. Participate in Professional Development: Attend in-service training and seek additional education on early childhood development and infant care to ensure high-quality care. 12. Create weekly lesson plans by using provided curriculum to target the 4 domains: Social emotional, physical, language and cognitive development.
