A Mendham, NJ Family is seeking a warm, patient, and reliable live-in nanny. They have two children ages 3 years and 1-year-old. The schedule will be either 5 or 6 days on, and 1-2 days off, from 7am-7 p.m. The nanny will provide attentive and nurturing care, creating a structured daily routine that includes meals, naps, and engaging in educational and developmental activities such as reading, arts and crafts, and outdoor play. Responsibilities include managing diaper changes, potty training, and ensuring proper hygiene for the children. The oldest is in school M-F 8:30am-12 p.m. and their youngest is home with an NCS until February. The mom is currently a SAHM who is slowly getting back to work, and the father works a demanding schedule.
The role also involves household support related to the children, such as preparing healthy meals and snacks, keeping their areas clean and organized, managing their laundry, and safely transporting them to activities, playdates, and school. Assistance with evening routines, including baths, story time, and bedtime, is also required. The nanny will collaborate closely with the parents to ensure consistency in parenting approaches and discipline and may assist with light household chores, such as loading/unloading the dishwasher, grocery shopping, organizing and restocking the pantry/refrigerator, and tidying shared spaces. The family does have a friendly 140-lb. dog, so this person should be okay around dogs.
Applicants should have proven experience caring for young children, preferably as a live-in nanny, and possess CPR and First Aid certification (or a willingness to obtain these). A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, a valid passport, and the ability to travel internationally are required. Flexibility with scheduling and strong communication skills are essential to maintaining a positive working relationship with the family. There are no additional pets allowed in the home so candidates will not be able to move their pets into their property.
This position includes a private on-property apartment with a washer/dryer and kitchen, use of a family-provided SUV, and health benefits. All candidates must be comfortable being paid on the books plus they can offer health insurance.
