A warm and calm family in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking a reliable, engaging, and nurturing part-time nanny to join their household starting May 1st. This is a long-term role, perfect for someone who loves working with infants and is comfortable providing flexible support to new parents. Their child is 3 months old. Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (Mom will be home, but wrapping up her work day so the nanny will be in charge) Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (Parents will be out) They can eventually offer 4-8:30pm, M-Th if the nanny would like the extra hours. Compensation: $25-35/hour. On the books. Key Responsibilities: Provide attentive care and engage in developmental activities to foster milestones. Prepare and sanitize bottles, manage baby's laundry, and handle light housekeeping related to the baby. Light cooking as baby gets older. Support evening routines, including after daycare care (starting July, when the mom goes back to work). Avoid introducing screen time and focus on active interaction. Driving and Travel: Daycare is within walking distance, but a clean driving record is preferred for emergencies. The nanny will rarely need to drive as the parents will be mainly doing pick ups and drop offs from daycare. Nanny should be open to domestic and international travel with the family. Other Considerations: Comfortable around their 25 lb. French Bulldog (no pet care required). Swim capability is ideal (there is a pool in the building). Requirements: Fluent in English- fluency in French or Haitian Creole is a plus but not required. Warm, gentle, and calm demeanor- must be adaptable and collaborative. Long-term commitment (the family plans to move within the area, likely Bergen County, by the end of summer).
