The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with infants, ensuring their safety, comfort, and developmental growth through engaging activities and attentive care. Key Responsibilities 1. Infant Care and Supervision Provide attentive and compassionate care to infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment that meets the needs of infants. Follow feeding, diapering, and napping schedules in accordance with each infant's individual routine. 2. Developmental Activities Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. Engage in activities such as singing, reading, and playing with infants to foster their development. Observe and document each infant's progress and milestones. 3. Health and Safety Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper hygiene practices and emergency procedures. Monitor infants for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to the lead teacher or director. Administer first aid and CPR when necessary. 4. Communication Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on their child's day, progress, and any concerns. Participate in parent-teacher conferences and provide support to families as needed. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care. 5. Classroom Management Organize and maintain the infant classroom, ensuring it is orderly, clean, and equipped with necessary supplies. Follow the center's policies and procedures, including those related to discipline, confidentiality, and reporting. Support and guide any assistant teachers or aides in the classroom. 6. Professional Development Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops as required. Qualifications Education: A minimum of a Child Development Associate CDA credential, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Experience: Previous experience working with infants in a childcare or educational setting. Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and a nurturing demeanor. Other Requirements: Ability to lift and carry infants, sit on the floor, and engage in active play. Working Conditions This position requires working indoors and occasionally outdoors. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
