Are you a motivated and fun-loving individual who would thrive in a role where you can support a busy family by helping them raise confident, kind, and happy kids? If you enjoy a mix of childcare and family assistant tasks, this family cannot wait to meet you! This Raleigh family includes two parents who both work from home in the tech industry and two wonderful children. Their oldest is an energetic and curious 3-year-old boy. He thrives on movement and active play, making sports and imaginative games some of his favorite activities. He loves to stay busy and responds well to positive reinforcement and being a helper. He attends half-day preschool in the mornings. The youngest is an easygoing and joyful 8-month-old girl. She is currently breastfeeding but also takes a bottle well when mom is busy. She is on a great schedule for naps as well. They are following a baby-led weaning approach and hope for a nanny who is comfortable with this or willing to learn! She has an egg allergy so they hope for a nanny who is mindful of introducing new foods and willing to take the parent's lead on this. The family's parenting approach aligns with gentle parenting, positive parenting, and conscious discipline philosophies. They are big fans of Dr. Becky and Big Little Feelings. It would be a major bonus if someone was familiar with these strategies, but ultimately they simply hope for a teachable nanny who will be excited to learn. One of their biggest reasons for choosing a nanny is the ability to spend time with their children throughout the day when they have breaks, and they are excited to welcome someone who can become a valued part of their family's routine. While they are open to occasional outings to scheduled events such as library storytime, they anticipate much of the day being spent at home in their indoor and outdoor play spaces. A nanny who is comfortable caring for the children if they have minor sicknesses is also a must. While the children are the focus of this position, there will be a few hours a day of downtime while the oldest is in school and the youngest is napping, and during the afternoon quiet time/nap time. They hope for the family assistant side of this role to help them free up time to spend quality time with their children after work. These responsibilities will include laundry for the whole family, unloading and loading the dishwasher, preparing food for the children, vacuuming, wiping surfaces such as the counters, tables, and highchairs, restocking diapers and wipes, and helping with putting away food delivery and groceries. Generally keeping the house tidy and helping things run smoothly is the goal and the family will provide a list of daily/weekly/and as-needed tasks as a guideline. They have a cleaning service that comes regularly so no deep cleaning is requested. The typical work hours include Monday-Friday 9 AM-5 PM. Most weeks the nanny will work between 35-45 hours. They are looking for a nanny to join their family long-term and will have a slight shift in the hours starting in August/September when both of their children will be in preschool, but are still willing to guarantee hours. The family has one dog and one cat, so those with allergies wouldn't be a good fit. Both pets are friendly but their dog will bark for a few days before getting used to someone new. They are hoping for a nanny to join them ASAP and hope for a nanny who will truly be a vital part of their family! What they can offer their nanny: Guaranteed Hours Paid Time Off An organized house and a fun-loving family! Their ideal nanny is/has: 2-3 years of professional childcare experience with the ages of their children Clean Driving Record & Reliable Transportation Excellent references CPR/First Aid Certification Ability to Commit Long-Term Non-Smoker Comfortable with Dog and Cat in the home
