A busy family of four in Raleigh is looking for an active and dependable self-starter to join their team in early July (1st or 8th at the latest). They have two children who are 6 (nearly 7) and 9. They offer the best of both worlds when it comes to their personalities: one is more of a rule-follower and the other prefers socializing with others. They are best buddies most days, however, they have the occasional sibling disagreement that's over in the blink of an eye! Both kiddos love being outdoors, and the family typically mixes structured and free play to maximize their activity. A nanny with experience in this would be ideal! The family also has a friendly 3-year-old Goldendoodle in the home who will be excited to meet you and may take some time to warm up (may bark or be excited at first). They would ask for the nanny to assist with a daily walk and making sure she has water. Dad does have a cat allergy, so the family is seeking a nanny who does not have cats at home. The family would love it if their nanny were open to a split shift occasionally, with advanced notice. A typical (split-shift) day would begin at 7 AM, getting the children ready and dropped off at school by 8 AM. The regular work hours would begin with an afternoon start time at 12pm (or if you prefer to stay longer in the morning to accomplish the household tasks that's welcome as well) depending on the ideal time for the best-fit nanny candidate (and the number of guaranteed hours requested). Your afternoon would start with walking the dog, followed by household duties, such as organizing the children's play area, tidying up common areas, meal prep and cooking, unloading the dishwasher, managing the children's laundry, and running errands such as picking up groceries or dry-cleaning. You would then pick the children up from school at 3 PM and take them to the nearby library for homework before returning home. Extra points for those who can assist with 2nd and 4th-grade homework while making it exciting and fun! Some afternoons, the children may have activities (e.g., music, soccer) that require transportation, and on other days you will have more time to play! Most evenings both parents will be home by 7 PM. There will be a few evenings per month that they would appreciate extending care to 7:30/8 PM, with advanced notice. The children are on a traditional school schedule. If their nanny is available, they would love to offer hours for full days as needed, including teacher workdays or sick days.
