Attention nannies! If you are an experienced, detail-oriented, and fun-loving caregiver with a strong work ethic and passion for all ages and stages, this Fuquay-Varina family of 6 would love to meet you! They are looking for a dynamic, laid-back, and organized chaos controller to assist with raising their four little ones starting in mid-December or early January. Although much of your time will be spent assisting with household management and pickup! If you enjoy working with a variety of ages and household management tasks mixed in, this is the perfect role for you.
Their children are 9, 7, 3.5, and 1.5 years old, and offer a great mix of different personalities and interests. Their oldest is 9, loves animals, and is a goofy, rule-follower who loves to be a helpful big sister. Next up is their 7-year-old daughter, who is silly, smart as a whip, loves Legos, and thrives with clear, upfront expectations and directions. Their older son will be 4 this winter, and he is a sweet, laid-back boy with a passion for eating. He does have some food restrictions due to allergies and has an Epi-pen for his peanut allergy. He is on the spectrum and is non-verbal, so a nanny with special needs experience is a plus, but not required. He has an ABA therapist who attends half-day school with him and comes to the house for a few hours after school. He can get frustrated at times since he's getting older and has challenges communicating, so a nanny who is patient and can assist with re-directing him is important. Last, but not least, their youngest son is 1.5 years old and loves to be a little helper. He will start half-day school in February when he turns 2 and takes a daily afternoon nap.
Your typical day will involve a couple of hours of household management tasks before picking their two youngest boys up after half-day school at 11:45 AM. The family will provide a car to use for pickups. Nanny will spend the afternoon with their boys assisting with lunch, putting their youngest down for a nap, and finishing any household tasks while their older son spends time with his aide until it is time to pick up the girls from school at 3:15 PM on some days. Their grandparents will assist with afternoon school pick-up a couple of days per week, but the nanny will need to be on call during work hours to get the kids for any reason. Most days nanny will spend with the boys only (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday), as the girls have after school activities others will take them to. When the girls are not at horseback riding or piano lessons, they enjoy playing with the neighborhood kids and getting outside when they can.
When it comes to household tasks, the family would appreciate help with packing kids' lunches, family laundry, online grocery order pickup, easy meal prep, organizing and tidying different spaces, and adding foods to their grocery list as needed. Previous household management experience is not required, however, good organizational skills and taking initiative to help out wherever needed are important for this role. Mom and Dad work from home some days but have a private office and are very busy professionals. Mom enjoys popping out occasionally to grab lunch and communicate with their nanny to see how the boy's day is going. She has enjoyed forming relationships with her past nannies and looks forward to creating a positive working relationship with their next one!
The family resides on a property with a pond and beautiful backyard including a swing set and pool. Their two oldest are great swimmers and the boys will be receiving ongoing lessons in ISR. They are water babies, so a nanny who is comfortable with swimming and overseeing the kid's swim time is essential. The family has a beach house and the nanny is welcome to travel with them one week at a time in the summer if she desires. However, this is not a requirement. If the nanny would prefer to stay in town, they would appreciate help around the house with things like organizing different parts of the home, including the pantry, and closets, swapping seasonal clothes, etc., or other household management tasks. They have 2 dogs and 2 cats, who will only need their water filled up and occasionally be let outside for potty breaks.
The typical schedule for this position will be Mondays and Tuesdays 11 AM- 6 PM, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 11 AM- 5 PM. They are sad to be parting ways with their current nanny, as she has a new baby coming soon, but are so excited to meet their next long-term fit!
