My 18-year-old daughter, K, was diagnosed in February, 2024 with a neurological disorder that includes functional seizures. We have been told to expect a 2-3 year recovery time period of which mobility and endurance will fluctuate, but her cognition is 100%. During this healing time, K would love a companion to accompany her on outings and/or do stationary activities depending on daily mobility (wheelchair as needed). Someone who is outgoing and around her same age would be ideal. This person will need to be patient and comfortable with seizure activity lasting 30 sec to 5 min, standing or on the ground. These seizures are not harmful to her and happen 4-10 a day depending on activity level. The assistance needed is to make sure she stays safe while providing her social interactions. We will train on techniques. Thanks!
