Our son has an intellectual disability. He needs assistance with his physical, occupational, and speech therapies at home. He needs an aid who can accompany him to volunteer opportunities and generally supervise him to ensure his safety and the safety of those around him. He requires significant patience primarily because of his communication disorder. He is starting his senior year of high school and gets home before 5 each day. Then he would have dinner and do his exercises. When he has free time, he likes building Legos, playing games, and working on his fort outdoors.
