Eden Prairie - House Manager H14223 Location: Eden Prairie MN Schedule: Full Time: Start: August 26th Children: 3 children, ages 15 years, 12 years, and 9 years Salary: $22 - 25/hour *This position requires a COVID vaccinated candidate* We are looking for a house manager/nanny who will look at this role as more than a job but as an extension of their own family. My husband and I both have very demanding jobs so we need someone that can take on household duties and childcare help with little supervision. Someone who can be very independent and take initiative to do things that need to get done. Some information about what we are looking for: Someone who likes to clean and organize Someone who sees a disorganized drawer and organizes it or sees a dirty chair and scrubs it Someone who enjoys cooking and likes to make delicious, healthy meals for the family. we love food at our house and would love someone who loves to cook and loves to make new things. We need someone who can do the meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking. We also sometimes host parties and holiday events and would need someone who can prepare a meal for a large gathering. Someone who can spend the occasional overnight or weekend. Once in a while (maybe 2-4 times a year) we like to get away as a couple OR our work travel schedules overlap and would need someone who is able to stay at the house during the evenings during the week or through the weekend with the kids and pets. Someone who is independent and takes initiative. We are a really busy household so we need someone that sees something and takes initiative to fix it. For example, a lightbulb out, a kid that needs new socks or new school clothes, a birthday party that needs to be planned, or really anything that could come up! Below is a typical Day in the Life - Overview of Responsibilities: Get kids off to school - make sure they have what they need for the day and don't miss the bus Pick up / organize the house Plan meals, grocery shop, and make dinner (and breakfast and lunch for kids on days they don't have school) Get mail / packages that are delivered to house, make returns as needed Manage the household calendar - read emails sent to our household email account that you will have access to and update the family calendar as needed for school and sport events Be available if the school calls to pick up a sick kid or bring something in that a child may have forgotten Pick our middle child up from school early 4 days a week (at 3:15pm) and bring to gymnastics Household cleaning to include: household laundry, sheets and towels, clean bathrooms, vacuum/sweep/mop as needed, Water indoor plants weekly (37 orchids + about 15 other plants) and water outside plants daily in the summer (small patio vegetable garden + 2 pots on patio and 2 planters in front of house) Organize drawers, closets, and cupboards Run misc. errands as needed In addition to these duties, we also have some pets that need some care. We have a 4-year-old Goldendoodle who always wants attention and can never have enough. We have an invisible fence and she has a doorbell that she is trained to use to ask to go outside and ask to come inside so her maintenance during the day is letting her out and letting her back in. Also, she tends to bark so calling her to come back inside if she starts barking. She is kennel trained so if you need to leave the house to run errands, she can be put in her kennel. Additional maintenance for her will be to schedule grooming appointments every couple months and annual vet appointments. We also have a 2-year-old cat that is mildly shy and may stay away for the first couple weeks, but she will warm up and will usually find a sunny spot to take naps during the day. Last but not least, our newest addition is a 160-gallon salt-water aquarium with about a dozen tropical fish (Nemo and Dori included), as well as craps, shrimp, and snails. The fish require feeding three times a day. My daughter or I usually feed them in the morning and the evening but we would need you to feed them in the afternoons. We have a service that comes to clean the aquarium - currently every week but that will likely reduce down to every other week after the tank is a bit more established. They usually request times that they have available so we would just need you to add the requested times to the home calendar and be home when they arrive. If you think you'd be a good fit for our family, please reach out, we'd love to hear from you! Thank you!
