Position Overview: Michigan Nanny Solutions is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and professional Family Assistant to join a warm and welcoming family in Saugatuck. This role is ideal for a proactive and energetic candidate who will provide structured support for three wonderful children, ages 11, 8, and 8, while also assisting with household management. The base weekly schedule is guaranteed at 30 hours per week, though many weeks will average only 16-24 hours, to ensure the Family Assistant's flexibility and availability to cover pre-planned days off school and weekend shifts. The Family Assistant will primarily work afternoon/evening and weekend hours during the school year (4-hour shifts Monday-Thursday: 3p-7p or 5p-9p & 1-2 weekends per month) and expanded daytime hours in the summer (Monday-Thursday: 3p-7p & Friday: 9a-5p). The family hopes their new Family Assistant can start by Monday, April 14, 2025! Help maintain organization in children's spaces, assist with keeping the kitchen and common areas tidy, and ensure a smooth daily routine for the family. - Transportation & Scheduling: Support the children's activities by coordinating and driving them to extracurriculars, lessons, and school-related events. A reliable personal vehicle is required, and mileage reimbursement will be provided. - Pet Care: Occasionally assist with feeding and walking the family's dog as needed. - Flexible Scheduling & Reliability: The family's schedule includes regular after-school support, school closure days, and occasional weekend needs. Flexibility is key for accommodating pre-planned weekend shifts and summer schedule adjustments. Who We're Looking For: - Experience: You have at least three years of professional experience in childcare, education, or household management. Experience working in private homes as a nanny or Family Assistant and an understanding of childhood development are highly valued. - Skills: You are highly organized, proactive, and able to take initiative in planning activities and maintaining household routines. You can engage children in learning and play while balancing family support responsibilities. - Personality: You are warm, patient, and energetic. You love to be hands-on, engaging children in structured activities, supporting their independence, and being a positive role model. - Professionalism: You are punctual, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of care. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide updates on the children's activities, behavior, and any relevant household needs. - Emotional Intelligence & Behavioral Support: You are comfortable supporting children with varying emotional needs and can implement positive behavior strategies.
