Michigan Nanny Solutions is now interviewing for the following position: A growing family in Rockford is seeking a Full-Time Nanny for 40 hours per week! Work-From-Home Parents are looking to hire an experienced, Professional Career Nanny with extensive experience working with infants and toddlers to provide top-notch loving care and consistent learning and development to their two sons, a 2.5-year-old and newborn who will be 3 months old when Nanny starts, for the next several years. Nanny will work every Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm for a guaranteed 40 hours per week. As returning clients of Michigan Nanny Solutions, this sweet Family is reluctantly saying goodbye to their beloved nanny when they move out of state at the end of June. The Parents are hoping their new Nanny can start by Monday, July 8th, 2024! Mom will be on maternity leave till November and handling the primary care of the newborn, so for the first 3 months of this position, Nanny's days will be focused on caring for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of the 2.5-year-old boy. Nanny should be engaging and attentive, able to teach-through-play, and have experience planning gross and fine motor skills activities and sensory activities (a weekly theme-based curriculum is provided by Michigan Nanny Solutions to help meet this expectation!) Parents would love for Nanny to seek out opportunities to influence their son's social development through classes, play groups, story times, outings with other nannies, etc. A family vehicle is provided for Nanny's use to transport to activities. The toddler boy is described by his biggest fans (Mom and Dad) as being very expressive, generally happy, silly, and oh so sweet, and by his best friend (Current Nanny) as being a sweet and easy toddler. He has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and is globally delayed-not yet walking or talking-and attends weekly physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy appointments with a Parent. Parents will encourage Nanny to accompany them to and participate in his therapies, and Nanny will be asked to help him work on his exercises daily as instructed by his therapists. The toddler uses an assistive walking device to help him cruise around the house and is learning to communicate his wants and needs with an assistive communication device, and Parents would like Nanny to work these practices into their day-to-day routine. Despite the toddler's ASD diagnosis, he is quite social, loves interacting with his caregivers and other children, is easily engaged in play and activities, loves being read to (the sillier the voices, the better!), and he loves any toys that light up and/or make music! He also loves to be outdoors, so daily active outside walks and play-time, weather permitting, would be greatly appreciated as well! The Nanny will be responsible for light child-related housekeeping, including: doing the both children's laundry, washing dishes used by Nanny and the boy, sanitizing and organizing toys, tidying and maintaining organization in the toddler's room and play spaces, wiping down the high chair and cleaning up after meals as needed, and tidying up after indoor and outdoor playtime and craft or learning activities. While Mom will be the primary caregiver for the new baby for the first few months, they would like Nanny's immediate help with baby laundry, washing bottles and pump parts, keeping the nursery tidy and stocked, helping them prep formula bottles, and keeping his toys and other baby accessories clean and organized. Both Parents work from home in offices separate from the areas that Nanny and the children will spend their time in. They generally stay busy in meetings and on phone calls, so they plan to maintain a low profile during the day to keep interruptions (to their work and to Nanny's work) to a minimum. Nanny should feel comfortable sharing their work environment, lunchtime, and other brief parts of their days with the Parents. The Family has one small dog who is low-maintenance and will only require the occasional let-out into the backyard. Nanny should be comfortable having the family's furry child around during their workdays & be willing to give him love and attention, too! The ideal Nanny for this family is a warm, friendly, and dedicated childcare professional who takes personal and professional pride in their ability to make a positive impact on the families they work with over a long-term basis. They have a positive and inclusive outlook on life and strive to treat others with respect, kindness, and empathy (and are skilled in modeling these traits for the children they care for!) They have a deeply ingrained passion for working with children and find deep fulfillment in investing in the children in their care. They are dedicated to keeping their charges safe, healthy, and engaged, will take joy in watching them learn and grow under their influence, and will thrill along with the parents over every new stage, development, and accomplishment as they grow. They are a creative and engaging playmate and educator who believes in laying an early foundation for learning by engaging the child with books, songs, toys, and exploring the world around them. Above all else, the family's ideal Nanny is a maternal and loving caregiver who will quickly become an important part of the family, a valued member of the parenting team, and who will love, care for, and take pride in the child in their care as if he were their own. The Family would LOVE to hire an experienced Nanny who has cared for children with unique needs in the past and will be knowledgeable and dedicated to helping the toddler thrive despite his physical challenges. This position requires a long-term commitment to the family, and preference will be given to the candidate who is willing to stay for 3+ years. A minimum of 1 year commitment is required. Pay will start at $22-$25 per hour and Nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days, a health care stipend (optional), and other standard nanny benefits. Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
