Location: Kensington, MD Children: 7-month old & 4.5-year-old Compensation: $30-$40/hr Schedule: 40 guaranteed hrs/week, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Description: An appreciative and warm family in Kensington, MD is seeking a dependable, calm, and honest nanny to care for their 7-month-old & 4.5-year-old. Their sweet 7-month-old son is a cheerful baby who thrives on time spent outdoors and loves going for walks. He's reaching exciting milestones, like starting to eat solids and sitting up on his own. Mom is currently breastfeeding and plans to continue until he turns one. While she's at work, he will take formula. Their 4.5-year-old son is a bright, curious child with a love for learning. He enjoys exploring the park, expanding his vocabulary, and engaging in music, singing, and dancing. Diagnosed with hyperlexia and on the autism spectrum, he has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Despite an early speech delay, he quickly developed reading and writing skills very early. He's more into learning and discovering than pretend play, and he's as easygoing as they come, with no notable behavioral challenges. He's in pre-K from 9 AM to 3:30 PM, so the nanny's focus will be primarily on their sweet 7-month-old. Mom or Dad will always be available if both children are present, ensuring the nanny is never solely responsible for both children at once. Mom and Dad are deeply committed to ensuring their children are safe, happy, and constantly learning. They prioritize nurturing their children's interests, encouraging their hobbies, and exposing them to new environments. Their ideal candidate shares these values and can foster the children's existing passions while sparking curiosity for new experiences. They are looking for someone who can encourage their little ones to step out of their comfort zones and explore the world around them. Mom and Dad have dynamic schedules: some days working from home in separate office spaces and other times working outside the home. The family also has a 9-year-old cat so being pet friendly is a must. The ideal candidate for this family will be dependable, responsible, and communicative-someone who can confidently approach Mom or Dad with questions or concerns while also keeping them informed and up to date. Creativity and musicality are key traits, as the family values fun and engaging activities for their younger child. Experience working with children on the spectrum is a bonus but not required. The perfect candidate will be adaptable, highly organized, and possess a positive, "can-do" attitude, with a strong focus on getting the job done efficiently and with enthusiasm. Qualifications 3 years of professional childcare experience High school diploma At least 21 years of age COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted Experience working with children on the spectrum preferred Valid driver's license Clean driving record Authorized to work in the U.S. Schedule Full-time, guaranteeing up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Compensation The family is offering $30-$40/hour, based on 40 hours/week, which equates to $1,200-$1,600/week, and an anticipated annual base income of $62-$83K+/year. This position is paid legally, on a W-2, subject to regular deductions and withholdings as required by law. Benefits The family is providing a monthly healthcare stipend of at least $200, 10 paid vacation days, 3 paid sick days, paid holidays, and mileage reimbursement for on-the-job travel.
