An open-minded and loving family in Cabin John, Maryland is seeking a calm, organized, and detail-oriented family assistant to help care for their two children, ages 11-year-old and 8-year-old, and home.
Their 11-year-old is a mellow and warm-hearted child with a sensitive and creative spirit. He excels in swimming, plays the cello, and has a strong artistic side, often sketching architecture, electric cars, and building with Lego that showcases his vivid imagination. He is genuine, kind, and incredibly respectful. The family has developed supportive techniques to help him thrive with ADD, and they'll provide additional guidance to ensure the best care. Open communication with the parents will be key, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. Patience, consistency, and gentle firmness are important.
Their 8-year-old daughter is a ball of energy with a multi-talented and athletic nature. She's outgoing, popular, and effortlessly navigates social situations. With a strong will and a bit of sass, she's known for her confidence and independence-often acting beyond her years. Spending time with older kids on the dive team has influenced her to adopt their lingo, and she's a proud daddy's girl. Smart, fun, and full of life, her parents would appreciate help with meal planning and encouraging her toward healthier eating habits.
Mom and Dad bring a perfect balance to their household, blending structure and spontaneity in a warm, loving environment. Dad, with his former military background, provides a sense of order and support, especially for their older child who has ADD. Meanwhile, Mom brings fun and spontaneity into their everyday lives while fostering family routines. Their family thrives on love and connection, with touch and nurturing at the heart of their relationships. As avid travelers, they enjoy international adventures, while summers are spent soaking up the sun at the local swim club, and winters bring skiing trips. Their Taco Tuesdays wouldn't be complete without lively tech & trivia to go along with the tacos! With two friendly cats in the home (who think they are dogs), a pet-friendly approach is a must for anyone joining this fun-loving family.
The family is seeking someone fluent in Spanish to reinforce their children learning and speaking Spanish at home. Their ideal candidate will provide a structured environment, and demonstrate a high level of patience and understanding to support the children's needs effectively. Additionally, they need someone who can assist their oldest with homework, particularly in math, and staying focused on tasks. The ideal candidate will possess impeccable communication skills communicating with both parents openly and honestly, have an eye for detail, keen organizational skills, and take the initiative in daily tasks. This family values a candidate who serves as a positive role model, guiding their children, teaching them responsibilities, and offering support as a mentor. Candidates should be comfortable cooking most days or augmenting the family's meals. Additionally, they should be familiar with ready-to-cook meal services like Home Chef and Blue Apron. The candidate should feel comfortable becoming a part of the family and embody a warm and approachable demeanor.
This role entails creating a nurturing environment for their children to flourish and managing various child-related household tasks such as meal preparation, tidying, organizing children's areas, laundry, maintaining household schedules and vendors, running occasional errands, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, overseeing before and after-school routines, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness in play areas and rooms and coordinating activities, managing appointments, events, and activities, and other relevant household tasks.
