Adjusting to going back to work is proving much more difficult than I imagined. I'm a PhD student with a flexible schedule where I need to go into lab for a few hours at a time for experiments a couple days a week and can work from home for the rest. But this schedule isn't consistently the same, and is flexible. My husband works from home sometimes as well, but is less available to be disturbed. 3 days a week is ideal, but we could also benefit from 4 days. We prefer this 1:1 care vs the chaos of daycare, at least until he is a bit older. There are families in the neighborhood who are open to a nanny share and could split days with us, 3 days us, 2 days them, to provide a full time option. We also have a cat and dog.
