The Woods Hole Daycare Cooperative is a small, not-for-profit preschool/ daycare uniquely located in the heart of Woods Hole in a beautiful, historic school building. We are seeking a preschool teacher who shares in this vision to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a passionate, supportive group of educators and work in a collaborative environment. As a Coop team member, you will actively cultivate a space that values the beliefs and cultures of all families, promotes a respect for the natural world, inspires a sense of curiosity in the younger generation, and fosters social-emotional development and life skills through intentional interactions as well as friendly and playful instruction.
Assists in curriculum development, planning, and prep and supports Lead Teacher in organized group times (circle, projects, experiments, etc.).
Upholds rhythms, routines, and rules of the classroom as set forth by the team Lead.
Volunteers ideas, opinions, and plans for classroom improvement, curriculum, activities.
Consults frequently with the Director and Lead Teacher on activities, children's records, events, and problems as they arise.
Keeps timely and accurate records of children (in cooperation with the Lead teacher and Director).
Maintains friendly, positive relationships and open channels of communication with families.
Consistently shares information regarding classroom happenings and children's day.
Helps with regular housekeeping duties of classroom and common spaces.
Models appropriate, kind, and cooperative behavior and life skills to children.
Maintains a safe, appropriate classroom environment that meets state-licensing standards and criteria.
Provides consistent guidance and care.
Adheres to best practice standards and behaves in a manner that aligns with Coop policies/ philosophies (child guidance, discipline, transitions, potty training, etc.)
Ensures staff file is up to date with: CPR/ First Aid certificate, physical, CORI check, required trainings, changes to address, banking info, etc.
Completes 20 PD hours/ year.
Acts with tolerance, respect, and kindness toward children, families, and all staff members.
Ultimately responsible to the Director and under his/her and Lead Teacher's daily direction.
Flexible start date (6/24-9/24)
Expected hours: 30- 35 per week
