Northwest Indiana Nannies is assisting this family with their nanny search. First time parents seeking infant care experienced 2 Day/Week Nanny for their daughter in Valparaiso. $18-19/hour, PT 18 hours/week, M/W 9am-6pm (Wednesday can be changed to another day depending on nanny's availability). These first time parents are looking for a nanny with a loving & patient caregiving style, an open-minded outlook on life, and a transparent & friendly communication style. Mom works from home (WFH), so a nanny with a teamwork oriented approach will be best for this position. This family has 2 cats also. The main responsibilities of this position will be the care of the child and related duties. Infant care experience is important to this family, so 6+ months of infant care experience is required to apply. This is a part-time position requiring a 6 month commitment, with opportunity for renewal. Position to start in April 2025. Guaranteed Hours and 1 week PTO per 6 month work agreement are offered. W-2 Employment position with legal payroll and tax withholdings Start Date: -April 2025 Children: 5 month old girl Experience & Education Requirements: 2+ Years of professional childcare experience required 6+ months of professional infant care experience Knowledge of early childhood developmental milestones High School Diploma or equivalent Family Personality: "Halloween all the time", laid back "bonfire type" people who enjoy being with others but also value relaxing together at home, regularly spend time with family and are involved with family activities, open-minded & caring. Ideal Family/Nanny Relationship: As new parents, we welcome the nanny's expertise and suggestions. We are looking for someone who we (especially Mom, as she WFH) can have a friendly relationship with. During the nanny's shifts, the nanny will be "captain" and Mom will be "co-pilot". Mom will be around most of the time and has a somewhat irregular work load, with Mondays being the busiest. On busy days, Mom will have her headphones on and separate herself in order to get work done. On slower days, Mom is interested in working as a team and doing things such as preparing a bottle/food for the baby, observing and learning from the nanny, and even going on walks together with the baby. Ideal Nanny Qualities: Infant care experienced, loving, patient, transparent, trustworthy, open-minded, relaxed, teamwork dynamic, non-smoking. Pets: Both cats are pretty relaxed and gentle Betty- black female cat Stevie- long hair tabby female cat House Management Responsibilities: none Level of Activity: Being able to keep up with the baby as she begins moving more is important. Additionally, taking her for walks and outdoor activities is expected. The home has three levels with stairs, ground level, second floor, and basement.
