My 18-month-old is very behind in his speech development. He otherwise presents normally and his speech therapy evaluation is in agreement that there aren't likely to be any other underlying issues, he just needs to talk. He needs practice with speech. The problem is that at home, his older sister talks over him all the time, and at daycare there are lots of kids so he continues to not speak up. He is in speech therapy but that's only once a week. We are looking for someone to come twice a week for a few hours during the workday to spend one on one time with him to play games and focus on gently encouraging him to say words, when there are fewer distractions or people speaking over him. Ideal candidate would have experience with toddlers and have availability in the afternoon. Let us know if you can help!
