Job Requirements Base Requirements Pass a background check through fingerprints You must be of the age of 19 Maintain a complete DCFS file Complete all orientations form DCFS and from Playhouse Academy Must Attend and be able to run all monthly meetings You have to have your Physical and TB test on file (Physical needs to be done every two years) Directors should be able to: Have respect for all employees and children Have emotional maturity when working with staff and children Physical and mental health that do not interfere with child care responsibilities Good personal hygiene Must have interactions with children Must be able to listen to the needs of the children and staff Sensitivity to children's socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds, and individual needs Skills in planning, direction, and conducting programs that meet the children's needs. Have the ability to make the children feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy and involved in play Skills to help each child meet their developmental and emotional needs Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED A minimum of 60 credit hours in ECE Must have continuing education every year Food handlers Maintain First Aid and CPR Professional Duties Work well with others Read and follow all DCFS standards Maintain confidentiality with all information at all times Stay current with everything about early childhood Be sure the center is inviting and has no lingering odors Maintain a good public image Communication is key for parents and staff members Always want to improve the center Seek out ways to advertise Report any needs or problems to the Director Work well with the center director Good time management Classroom Responsibilities Supervise the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times during the day Maintain a clean and order free classroom Serve as a role model for all children Make sure you are caring for the building and the classroom supplies that you have Turn in weekly lesson plans Preform ages and stages screening on every child in your care within 30 days of them enrolling Supervise the assistant teacher Fill out accident and incident logs correctly Make sure all bulletin board are done every month Make sure you are always following your daily schedule and lesson plans Cleaning checklist must be done every day Attendance must be done right away when a child arrives and as soon as the child leaves for the day or transitions Food sheets must be completed at the time of the meal Portfolios must be done and kept up to date Classrooms she be decorated at all times for the theme that we are in Diapering procedures must be followed at every diaper change
