I work six 12-hour shifts per week for the next 4-5 months and my husband works full time and needs help with the kids and around the house in the evenings. Ideally, we would have someone pick the boys up from school 2-3 days/wk (only 3 min from house) and bring them home to play while my husband makes dinner, or possibly make dinner while he plays with kids, and help a little around the house such as dishes or helping kids clean up toys.
