About the job
We are looking for a great companion/caregiver for our 26-year-old son with Autism in Punta Gorda. We would prefer someone who has experience and has a reliable car. We plan to move him down from NY around January 2025 - Ultimately , he will have his own little backyard cottage next to our house and Id like him to have an independent life as much as possible . He is self sufficient in self care , can ride a bike , swims and absolutely loves thrift stores and just driving around exploring . He thrives with structure and predictably, follows directions , understands most everything and is very smart- his speech is functional , but limited to simple exchanges - he isn't very good with reciprocal conversational -but can tell you what he wants and needs (or not ) . He is gentle and typically has a permanent smile on his face .
