We need a babysitter for our 2 children -- picking them up and walking them home after school. Some light tidying up would be part of our caregiver's responsibilities. You should be willing to help with homework as needed - but they're pretty self sufficient! We also have a 10-month-old puppy who our daughter cares for, but the caregiver would need to accompany for walk .
