J.G. - $35-$40 Full Time Nanny/Manager Active Family!
Overtime 1.5
Job ID: 5787
Location: North Boulder, CO
Please describe your family:
Loving family with three kids (4, 8, 10) looking for an awesome addition to our crew. We are newish arrivals from Nashville living in North Boulder. Mom is an interior designer and Dad is a writer, both working from home. We are pro-adventure, positivity-focused, and enjoy travel.
Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We desire overall support in giving our children the best possible circumstances in which to flourish. We want them to have more attention and varied social/emotional stimulation than we alone can offer. Our ideal candidate is passionate about children and has their own gifts and strengths to bring to the table! We are also looking for someone who can flex between child-care and house management based on the day and the current schedule (summer/school year/breaks/etc).
Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
Daughter (10) is entering fourth grade and is an empathetic and friendly girl and relishes her role as the oldest child. She is helpful and curious, bright and creative, and always looking for things to create or little business ideas to pursue. She plays the violin with twice weekly practices, is a Girl Scout, and recently started fencing after school as well. She will likely join a developmental ski team in the mountains this winter.
Son, (8) is an extremely bright and energetic boy about to enter 2nd grade. He loves to read, practice martial arts, and play board games with friends and family. He practices martial arts once or twice a week, and will likely be starting up other new activities this fall/winter. He will likely join a developmental ski team this winter with his sister.
Son is our youngest at 4, and is entering his pre-K year full time. He is a happy, sweet, and curious little boy who generally gets along with everyone and is quick to make a friend. He loves being on his bike and is fascinated with cars and other vehicles.
Older children are both gifted with ADHD and going through various treatment and therapy sessions to learn how to work with their particular set of gifts and challenges. All three children attend school full time. As a family we love to hike and ski (with several weekend and week-long trips throughout the winter).
Describe your home setting: We are in a lovely modern home with a spacious backyard for lots of outdoor play, including a self-contained trampoline and a slackline. We live in a walkable neighborhood that is a hop, skip, and jump away from the rec Center, and in a year or so will be moving into our permanent home. Mom and Dad both work primarily from home, and are currently managing a major home renovation project for our long term home about 5 minutes away.
We are interested in the following:
Nanny, Permanent
Full-Time/Part-Time?
Full-time
How long do you need a Nanny?
1 Year minimum - multi-year a plus!
Live-in/Live-out?
Nanny, live-out
What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
We want to feel certain that our kids are safe, supported and encouraged. Caring for them includes feeding, dressing, bathing and bedtime (as age appropriate), as well as helping to prepare our travel bags with necessities for any outings. We may want them driven to and from school or extracurricular activities as we find them and as the kids show interest. We will also want help with laundry, meal prep, shopping, home organization, and light household chores like dishes. We'd also love it if you can be available at least twice a month for Thursday or Friday date nights. During vacation breaks from school, we would prefer these hours to be during the day rather than later.
What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Our goal is to find a nanny who, when they are in nanny mode, is really focused on the kids: teaching and communicating with them, actively playing with and engaging with them. We love including them in art, music, exploring, dance, culture, nature, cooking and exercise. We hope you have your own ideas and ways to bond and enrich their lives!
What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR and First Aid, as well as experience with PreK and Elementary age group.
Does this position require a valid driver's license?
Yes
Does this position require a car?
Yes
When will this position be available?
Start date is flexible
How many hours do you need a nanny for?
Open to 35-45 hrs per week. We can be fairly flexible, but are generally thinking Mon-Fri and 1 or 2 longer days (Mon & Wed) to include household help, would be ideal. We'd also love if you can be available at least twice a month for Thursday or Friday date nights. For household management while kids are at school, we think a general 8am/9am-6pm (flexible) would be great.
How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$35-$40/hr, 2 weeks paid vacation, major holidays, sick days, performance bonuses, health stipend. Guaranteed hours, pay rate and job description. Negotiable.
Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
One hamster in a large cage/terrarium.
What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are looking for an experienced professional who is kind-hearted and patient - your role in our family will have a real and positive impact on our children's (and ours as parents!) lives. You should know how to relate to children and be able to support them in their emotional/personal/physical needs. We feel that we are offering a great position to the right person and that we - and hopefully you, too - can afford to be picky and find a fit that really feels good to everyone. We have historically done a fair amount of travel. If you like to travel and are open to traveling with us (to places like Disney World, New York City, Nantucket, The Bahamas) that is a big plus. If we were ever to leave town for a parents-only weekend, it would be lovely if you were open to staying with the kids as we do not have family in Boulder and would want the extra coverage.

We look forward to meeting you!
