A bit about us: we are a family of 4: I am a stay-at-home mom and my husband is self-employed, often working long hours. We have two children- an energetic, creative 5-year-old girl and a sweet, curious, sometimes emotional 22-month-old boy. We have two golden retrievers- afriendly, gentle 10-year-old and a 4-month-old puppy. Our family seeks part-time help on weekday afternoons following a gentle yet authoritative parenting style. Schedule is somewhat flexible for the right fit. Ideally, this person would be available for date nights and occasional vacations with our family. The position varies in caring for mostly our toddler and sometimes both children: our son's nap time overlaps with our daughter's school pickup and after school activities. A typical afternoon might look like: you arriving to our home while the toddler continues to sleep and being ready to feed him a snack and play at home when he wakes up while I am with my daughter at activities after school. Later in the afternoon you engage with both children while I make dinner. There will also be times when I need to take care of errands/appointments alone outside the home and you will be responsible for both children. Tasks include: engage in energetic and creative play, maintain clean and safe play areas, prepare and feed snacks, light cleaning such as general tidying, children's dishes and laundry. Other tasks include change toddler's diapers, assist with dogs when I'm not home. A bit about you: You're organized, empathetic, and kind. You believe that kids are individuals and value their thoughts and opinions while also setting and maintaining boundaries. You excel not just at completing tasks but also at identifying gaps and seeing what needs to be done. You're a good communicator and express your opinions and ideas openly. You enjoy teaching and guiding kids (and having fun with them as well!).
