I work from home and my baby is too mobile for me to just sit down while I work or for me to get anything done. He needs a little more constant care/interaction now. Not to mention someone to play with him so he learns how to walk and talk. Just getting that from us in the evening certainly will not be enough. He is about to be a year old so he isn't too specific about what he likes to do yet besides explore his surroundings.
