Kids Club staff care for our students before and after school. The students are divided into two groups in grades preschool through kindergarten and first through eighth. Under general supervision, staff maintain the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert to the needs of the children as individuals and as a group. SPECIFIC DUTIES: -Promote a positive environment for children at all times -Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and children -Supervise the day-to-day activities of the program while maintaining ratios -Provide homework assistance -Initiate and implement daily activities (i. e. arts & crafts, snack, games) -Redirect inappropriate child behavior and notify the Director when necessary -Ensure that the Kids' Club classrooms are kept in a clean and orderly manner -Attend staff meetings as assigned -Other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Must be 18 years of age or older -12 ECE units required from an accredited college -Pass Fingerprint Clearance and Background Check upon hire KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: -Ability to relate well to children and adults -Strong oral communication skills required -Excellent organizational and time management skills -Upbeat attitude, enthusiastic personality and a strong sense of professionalism -Knowledge of learning styles and child development stages
