The family consists of a mother, grandmother, one child, and one dog (Pitbull mix). Mom is a physician at Children's Hospital and values flexibility and a supportive approach in her home. This multi-generational household is requiring assistance with scheduling, household coordination, and daily activities. The dog is still a puppy, and requires consistent training, so dog lovers are a must! The Family Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the household, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations both onsite and remotely. This dynamic role requires a proactive individual comfortable with childcare, pet care, household organization, and family coordination. Responsibilities also include travel arrangements and maintaining a secondary household in Hawaii (once or twice annually). Responsibilities: Family Coordination & Support: Act as the primary point of contact for mom, ensuring seamless communication and task management. Coordinate with family members on household activities and tasks, including daily check-ins. Plan and manage travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and passport/visa tracking. Organize family holiday and summer schedules, ensuring alignment with extended family plans. Research family activities, summer camps, and travel options based on interests. Household Management - Chatsworth: Coordinate vendor schedules and supervise household repairs (pool, appliances, etc.). Vet quotes for projects (painting, landscaping, solar installation, etc.). Manage errands such as mail, dry cleaning, groceries, and returns. Maintain household organization and cleanliness in common areas. Household Management - Hawaii (Travel Required): Troubleshoot and update technology (Wi-Fi, streaming services). Coordinate furniture replacement, pest control, and appliance repairs. Supervise maintenance and repair projects. Childcare: Support the child with time management, homework, and chores. Provide school pick-up and transportation to after-school activities twice a week (3-8 PM). Supervise playdates and pool activities with the child and visiting cousins. Assist with summer activities and ensure a fun, engaging environment. Pet Care: Support the dog's ongoing training and participate in sessions with a trainer. Drop off and pick up the dog from daycare as needed. Maintain stock of pet supplies and food. Adult Assistance: Drop off and pick up grandmother from weekly social events. Provide basic tech support and assist with online ordering. Support guests during house visits, including transportation and logistics. Occasionally act as a bartender at family events (4-6/year). Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience working with children and in multi-generational households is a plus. Comfort around dogs, with willingness to assist in obedience training. Proactive, flexible, and able to navigate multiple family members' needs and preferences. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Ability to swim (for supervision during pool activities). Up-to-date on vaccinations (COVID-19, flu, and Tdap). Working Hours: Onsite: Two afternoons per week (3 PM-8 PM) for childcare and transportation. One evening per week (5 PM-midnight) for errands or social event support. 3-5 hours weekly for errands and other household tasks. Remote: Flexible, to handle planning, research, and coordination.
