Star Sitter!

My partner and I recently moved to the area, and we're looking for a great babysitter for times we need to run errands, or have a date night! We have 2 kids, age 4 (J) and 6 (L). Some things about them and their care; the kids both have a screen fixation, so we limit/remove screen time most days. We always encourage other things they enjoy; coloring, building blocks, puzzles, books, and playing together at the park/yard. We do want a babysitter who will engage in productive play with them, whether it's practicing reading/writing, playing a game, or just using their imaginations! (IE, we don't want someone to just sit on their phone while we continue to do most of the work-- sometimes we need a parent break). For afternoon/night jobs, dinner will be planned/laid out, but expected that the babysitter would prepare/serve it. We don't expect any cleaning at all, but getting the dishes to the sink and the kids ready for bed after dinner is ideal. Lastly, some important things to know: L is on the spectrum, but is very high-functioning and rarely has meltdowns. Sometimes he just needs a little extra direction. J is almost there, but he is still potty training, so potential for diaper changes does exist. In addition, we do have a large dog and a cat-- the babysitter wouldn't be responsible for their care at all, though feel free to give them love and pats! The kids love coloring, reading, and 'helping' us out with chores or kid-friendly tasks (feeding the cat/dog, organizing their toys, folding clothes with mom, helping dad in the yard). Something they've been really into recently that we've tried together is ' kid origami', which for them is paper airplanes or cootie catchers :) The kids need support with learning how to play well with others a little better. The oldest sometimes struggles with setting personal boundaries, and the youngest frequently stomps all over those boundaries, whether it's a shared toy or personal space. We're looking for someone who has a passion for working with kids and engaging with them, helping them grow into great little humans. Our home has plenty of parking in the neighborhood, and of course our driveway. We have a dalmador (dalmatian/lab mix) named Caboose, and a cat named Pickle!
