Job Title: Teacher Reports To: Curriculum & Compliance Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Job Goals: To nurture and provide instruction that will encourage each child to become an independent life-long learner. To stimulate the emotional, intellectual, and social growth of each child by adhering to the educational programs approved by the center. To allow each child to work and progress at his/her own pace and keep parents informed of the child's attendance and behavior. Minimum Qualifications: CPR/First Aid Certification At least 12 hours of childcare training. Valid associate's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or CDA credential required. Early Childhood Education Bachelor's Degree preferred. Ability to pass an ABI/FBI criminal background check and receive a clearance from the Child Abuse and Neglect Center, the State Sex Offender Registry and the National Sex Offender Registry. Ability to work 40 hours a week. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Ability to develop and implement curriculum specific to the needs of children at designated age groups. Ability to utilize technology to communicate, plan and provide instruction, manage data, and produce and submit reports. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. Possession of physical strength, mobility, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities. Such alternatives to the above qualification as the church leadership may require. Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of children. Interact with children in a manner which conveys respect and nurturing. Support the social and emotional development of children. Attends to the personal hygiene of each child, as appropriate, including changing diapers and soiled clothing, and washing hands. Implement approved curriculum utilizing proven instructional practices that achieve meaningful and measurable outcomes. Implement Bible curriculum. Utilize technology to plan and provide instructions. Establish routines and use appropriate behavior management techniques. Maintain accurate and complete student records. Assist in the development and facilitation of interactive parent and child literacy activities. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Maintain professional appearance and dress appropriate for the classroom. Respond to inquiries and requests in a timely manner. Maintain confidentiality regarding childcare/workplace matters. Attend training sessions and meetings as required the Manager/Director. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Manager/Director.
