I am a retired pediatric physical therapist and grandma relocating to Smithfield, VA to provide childcare for my 2 mo old grandson. With 23 years of experience as a physical therapist and over 10 years in the public school system, I am now looking forward to spending time proving day care for my grandson. I am looking for one other child to provide child care in my home in Cypress Creek beginning January 2017. I am willing to accept a special needs child as I was a First Steps provider in my home town of Columbia, Missouri.

I'm offering quality, loving care for your little ones. I'm a Christian woman with a smoke free/pet free, clean home, and a large, fenced back yard. I rarely get sick, so I'm very reliable. I always try to do what's right and honest. I'm extremely patient and highly organized. I have a current certification in neonatal resuscitation, have been taught child CPR, experience with triplets, special needs children, premature birth, speech delay, hearing impaired, and motor delay. I'm experienced in child education with strengths in elementary level education. I'm looking to make a little money, but I'm not just asking, "What's in it for me?" I know how hard it is to find great child care and even harder to find affordable care. So it's just as important to me to be a blessing to those I work for, as it is to find the perfect family to serve. With that in mind, I only charge $3/hr for the first child. $5/hr for two children. And MAYBE, if you have a really tiny little one (under 6 months), and if you can afford it, I'd ask $4/hr. If not, I will cheerfully accept $3. My responsibilities keep me in my own home, but I hope you'll consider my offer. I'm eager to serve.
Hi! I'm a dedicated stay at home mom with a passion for fun learning and caring for children. I have 2 children of my own ages 4 and 3. (11 months apart) I have been a caregiver, of some sort, for years. Other than raising my own two,I have over 20 years of experience in caring for children of family members of all ages, throughout through the years. Here, at The Cozy Nook, I offer a safe, loving, friendly, clean family environment for children to flourish. Our focus is fun learning. Your child will be able to explore free-play and even play dress-up in our dedicated brightly decorated playroom. They can opt for a little personal time in our reading nook exploring the treasures of books at their disposal. Participation in our more structured fun-learning activities in our dedicated "school" learning zone, is encouraged, but never mandatory. This is where your child may opt to l explore fun activities with media-time, art, vocabulary, letters with phonics, numeral recognition and counting, songs, q&a story time and have a great time striving toward overall school preparedness (using the VDOE school readiness plan as our guide to fun ideas for productive learning). We also have plenty of outside play space and an onsite playground. I am open for day shift starting at 500 am-5:00pm M-F and we also offer overnight care options between 9pm-600am (space permitting) M-F; before and after care options, are available as well for the Hardy Elementary school zone. For dayshift lunch and 2 snacks is included, I am accepting applications for children ages 18months-5 years old for dayshift and 18months-12 years old for overnight. If my in-home childcare service, sounds as though it may fit your needs please contact me anytime. I look forward to speaking with you.

Hello! I'm a stay-at-home mom of an almost 2-year-old. I have a BA in Psychology, current CPR certificate, work experience doing in-home childcare inspections in Alaska, and volunteer experience designing activities for and working directly with toddlers. We are a smoke-free, baby-wearing, dog-friendly household familiar with food intolerance (specifically milk and soy intolerance). We are hoping for a baby to love on or a toddler to play with (max two kiddos) and be a part of our daily routine between the hours of 7AM-6PM Monday to Friday. Hourly, full-time and part-time rates are negotiable, and we'd love to play at our house or be out and about going to do free library activities and going to the park. :)

MIss Sharon's Daycare provide s a safe, clean, nurturing environment for our children. The purpose of a family day home is to provide children with a home setting where they grow in a family type environment as opposed to a daycare center. Their goal is to help children feel safe, loved, and nurtured, while teaching them the importance of sharing, caring, and listening, as well as the rewards of good behavior.

I have never found a curriculum that I loved all the way through so I use a combination of the parts that I love of several different kinds of curriculums. I love to do activities around themes, books, or favorite movie and cartoon characters. I use some Montessori style activities as well as worksheets for preschoolers. my goal is to make everything we do as engaging as possible! I believe that children learn best through play and experiences and I try my best to give that to them. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development and am working towards a Bachelors in Mathematics for Secondary Schools. I try to be flexible but my typical hours of operation are 7am-5pm, but I am willing to discuss working outside of those hours.

FAQs for finding a family daycare near you in Smithfield, VA

When looking for a family daycare near you in Smithfield, VA, the most important thing to consider is the safety, comfort, and well-being of your child. Depending on your family's needs, make sure to inquire about the family daycare provider's experience in caring for children of similar ages. Ask about their qualifications, resources available for learning and development, such as toys or educational materials. Additionally, consider inquiring about how the family daycare provider structures their days; if they provide meals or snacks; and if they allow you to have a tour of their facility. It is also important that you feel comfortable with the family daycare provider and that they understand your family's values and priorities. Taking these points into consideration when selecting a family daycare can help ensure that your child has a safe and nurturing environment in which to thrive.

When selecting a family daycare provider, families may want to consider factors such as location, value for costs, hours of operation, and licensing requirements and monitoring standards. Additionally, it is worth evaluating any safety regulations in place at the facility and paying attention to reviews from past or current clients. Upon visiting the family daycare near you in Smithfield, VA, there should be a sense that it is clean and well-organized, and the staff should be friendly and welcoming. All of these aspects help ensure that not only are the family's needs met and children are receiving the best possible care.

When choosing family daycare near you in Smithfield, VA, it is essential to be thorough! Consider what's most important to you and when choosing a child care provider, and don't be afraid to ask questions when interviewing potential daycares. You should also schedule a visit to meet with the family daycare provider and observe the environment. You may ask them questions such as: How does the daycare staff interact with the children? Are there toys, materials, and appropriate activities for the age group of children in their care? Are there any qualifications, certifications, background checks, and child-to-adult ratio of staff information they can share with you? All of these questions as well as any additional considerations that are important to you should help you make an informed decision.
