About

Sewing for beginning and Intermediate students.
Students are guided through a project of their choice. Instruction is customized to each student's skill level.

Students bring a project which includes Pattern, fabric and thread. They may also purchase something in our store.

Please note:

*ALL students who have never used a sewing machine before must take our Machine Basics Class before enrolling in any of our Classes and/or Workshops.

*Drop-in Classes are reserved for returning students and students needing to make-up a missed class. Please do not sign up for these without approval. Email Jennifer@TheSewingRoomAlameda.com with any questions you may have.

Cancellation Policy : 24 hour notice for rescheduling. No-shows and cancelations with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded or rescheduled. Students may make up missed classes within a month of the missed class. Rescheduling should be done via email. If you know which days will be missed, prior to signing up, please sign up for Drop-in Spots if they are available instead of the series.

Instructor Aaron Williams is a sewing specialist based in Alameda. He began teaching sewing as a student technician at College of Alameda’s “Fablab” Makerspace in 2019, leading workshops and sewing classes for people of (almost) all ages.

After earning an AA in Apparel Design and Merchandising, he worked in NYC for Lululemon, Stoney Clover Lane, and Tom’s Sons International Pleating Company on various specialized industrial machines. Outside of work, Aaron collects vintage and designer clothing and works on his own designs. His passion lies in helping people, whether it’s getting the job done or helping them learn how to do it.

Please have your child bring a snack if you think they will be needing one.

Please keep your child home if they are sick or if they are exhibiting symptoms such as coughing, sneezing or runny nose. Students have 1 month to make up a missed class, providing they give us notice 24 hours in advance.

Thanks for your compliance with these policies.
