About Little Medical School | Research Triangle

We work with educators, healthcare leaders and community organizations to promote healthy lifestyles in children as they learn about careers in health care.

Let your child come and experience Little Medical School®, where we are inspiring tomorrow’s healthcareprofessionals today. Little Medical School® brings medicine, science and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting and fun way. Our educational enrichment programs provide a fun, innovative, and engaging curriculum. We create an opportunity to experience role playing using tools that real doctors use. We offer after school programming, birthday parties, and special events that we can customize to fit your needs. All of our curriculum is aligned with STEM objectives.

    Erica DeShields

    Instructor

    Erica DeShields earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from The University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before beginning her career in cybersecurity, Erica worked with youth in summer camp programs and created a food pantry for underserved youth in the Raleigh, NC area. She has also done nonprofit work assisting the elderly in her local community. She is excited to assist Brittney in bringing Little Medical School to the Triangle area of North Carolina and inspiring the youth of our future.

    Brittney McBride

    Instructor

    Brittney McBride, M.S., OTR/L earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before beginning her career as an occupational therapist, Brittney worked with children, teens, and their families in a variety of roles including as a mentor, behavioral assistant, employment specialist for a transition, school to employment program (S.T.E.P) and a nursery attendant. She also worked with adults with psychological and developmental disabilities as a job coach. As an occupational therapist Brittney has worked simultaneously in pediatrics, geriatrics, and industrial sports medicine. Brittney is now combining her love of helping others, the medical field and entrepreneurship through her first franchise with Little Medical School. She is excited to assist with educating young minds on possible careers in the medical field.
