About American Martial Arts Academy - Fullerton Campus

In 1992, founder Shihan Brad Wenneberg, a retired police officer, and his wife, Bonnie left the comfort of their successful careers to follow their dream. That dream was to open a martial arts studio.

Their family had already experienced the benefits of learning thevalues and principles of martial arts. They believed the wider community could benefit, too. And they were right. The American Martial Arts Academy was not just well-received, but celebrated as one of the best martial arts studios in the country. Over the years, to meet the growing demand in our community, we opened a second studio in Placentia in 2012.

  • Jason Wenneberg

    Instructor

My father, Master Wenneberg, began teaching me martial arts when I was six. By 10 years old, I was assisting in classes. I was an accredited instructor by 15. Perhaps because I was raised in a martial arts tribe, I developed a sensitivity towards the needs of my students. It is important to me to personally connect with both the children and the parents of the families who train at our Dojo. My goal is to help as many people as possible reach the level of Black Belt. I want my students to experience the same. I work closely with prospective martial arts teachers and pass on the lessons my father taught me. Why is this important? So that the next generation of martial arts instructors becomes a secure link in an unending chain. Relaying the physical and mental principles of martial arts to students of all ages and abilities is my life’s ambition.

Growing up can be tough. As your child goes through elementary school, they might feel too shy or nervous to speak up for themselves. Or, maybe they never feel like they “fit in” with certain activities or have too much energy to concentrate when needed. Our trained instructors know how to engage and teach kids at this important stage of their development. Our structured, supportive environment allows shy kids to blossom while high-energy kids benefit from activity based on principles of self-discipline and focus. Enrolling your child in American Martial Arts Academy will give them the foundational skills needed for more success now and later in life, including better self-confidence, resourcefulness, and perseverance.
