About Color Me Empowered
Our projects tie-in cross-curricular activities, such as math, writing, and creative problem-solving with real-world applications to the subjects students are learning in school. We work on designing civic art projects for a very low cost.
We believe that givingchildren the opportunity to improve their immediate community will enable them to see the power of art and the ability within themselves to bring about positive change in their environment.

Kristen got her creative start in the theatre, but found she was extremely passionate about the creative development of children - especially inner-city children. This led her to found Color Me Empowered, as she wanted a way to foster creativity in children while simultaneously working to improve neglected communities. She believes that art is a powerful tool that can be used to heal hearts and make the world a better place.

On 2nd and 4th Saturdays, kids can come in and work on their own projects or take advantage of our experienced instructors and learn something new. Students may also take on ambitious, ongoing projects if they would like. Studio Time can be used to develop new skills or strengthen current skills. All of our studio resources will be available to students during this time. Parents may drop-in last minute if they would like, buy a class-pack to use anytime during the fall semester, or register in advance. Students may choose to do ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, animation, collage, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking, screen printing, or anything else we have the resources to do. Sky's the limit!
