Reach your Highest Speak!”: A Super Fun & High-Energy Public Speaking Workshop for Middle Schoolers! LOCATION: RCMS Library, Thursday March 6, 6-7:30 (Spaces are LIMITED!) Middle school is a time when students become more self-conscious about how they present themselves—whether in class, with friends, or even online. That’s why public speaking skills are more important than ever! But don’t worry—this isn’t just another class. This is a high-energy, interactive, and seriously fun workshop designed to help students speak with confidence and feel good doing it! In this FREE Workshop for RCMS students, led by **Sumedha Bahri—Master Public Speaking Coach, Founder of “Highest Speak,” Patent Attorney, and stand-up comic—**and **Jon Yeager—Middle School Teacher, Master Public Speaking Instructor, and very popular DMV Stand-Up Comic—**students will get a crash course on building confidence, speaking effectively, and managing anxiety in both academic and social settings. What We’ll Cover (in the most fun way possible!): 🎤 Why public speaking and communication skills are game changers in school, friendships, and future careers. 🎤 How to use your voice and presence to your advantage! 🎤 Strategies to tackle speaking anxiety and feel more at ease. 🎤 The best ways to practice and improve speaking skills (without it feeling like work!). 🎤 A simple way to structure your thoughts—so you always know what to say. 🎤 Easy tips & tricks for speaking up in class, group discussions, and beyond! 🎤 Each student will get a chance to PRACTICE and receive feedback through fun public speaking games and activities! In this FREE Persuasive Speaking Workshop, students will learn some key and very effective persuasive speaking fundamentals! Then, they will practice them through some very fun, St. Patrick’s Day Persuasive Speaking Games! Great for beginners as well as our more more experienced Highest Speakers to amp up their skills!

Talk Trekkers” Intro to Public Speaking Series Now In Person at Our New Center Location! This fun, high-energy, and highly interactive public speaking series is perfect for young speakers of all experience levels! Whether your child is a beginner or already has some public speaking experience, this 5-session, 5-class-hour course provides individualized feedback and tailored challenges to help them grow while having a blast. Students will receive class materials, including a detailed class packet, to support their learning and practice. In each lively, engaging class, students will: LEARN - Learn and improve on the fundamentals of effective public speaking and explore different styles of speaking; - Learn to reduce and manage public speaking anxiety and nervousness; - Learn to implement DAILY positive public speaking and communication habits; - Learn to structure and improve their writing skills; - Understand the differences in various types of public speaking, such as persuasive, informative, storytelling, and conversational skills. DO - Practice their impromptu speech skills as well as prepared written assignments; - Present to the entire group and receive feedback from instructors and peers. IMPROVE - Each student will receive individualized feedback on their speaking to help them grow as confident and effective communicators. - If assignments are written, students will also receive individualized feedback on their writing to enhance clarity, structure, and impact. Every class is packed with high-energy activities, exciting public speaking games, and opportunities to practice new skills in a supportive, dynamic environment. For classes with more than 10 students, two engaging instructors ensure each child receives plenty of attention and feedback. Whether your child is new to public speaking or already loves the mic, this 5-session, 5-class-hour course is the perfect opportunity to build confidence, sharpen communication skills, and make friends in a supportive and dynamic community! Each student will receive a detailed class packet with materials to support their learning and practice. In every lively and engaging session, students will: LEARN Master the fundamentals of effective public speaking and explore different speaking styles; Develop strategies to manage and reduce public speaking anxiety and nervousness; Build positive daily public speaking and communication habits; Strengthen their writing skills with structured, clear approaches; Discover the differences between persuasive, informative, storytelling, and conversational speaking styles. This 5-session, 1.5-hour per class course provides individualized feedback and tailored challenges to help students grow while having fun! Particularly in the pre-teen and early teen years, gaining confidence in public speaking is essential—and this class gives students the tools to speak up, share their ideas, and engage with others in a supportive and dynamic environment. Students will also receive class materials, including a detailed class packet, to support their learning and practice. In each lively, engaging class, students will: LEARN - Learn and improve on the fundamentals of effective public speaking and explore different styles of speaking; - Learn to reduce and manage public speaking anxiety and nervousness; - Learn to implement DAILY positive public speaking and communication habits; - Learn to structure and improve their writing skills; - Understand the differences in various types of public speaking, such as persuasive, informative, storytelling, and conversational skills. Impromptu Speech Class (Grades 2-4) Location: Our New Center in Herndon Duration: 5 Weeks | 1 Hour Per Class This class is perfect for both beginners and more experienced young speakers! Our individualized approach ensures every student is challenged and supported at their unique level, helping them build confidence and improve from their baseline. With an energetic, fun, and fully interactive environment, your child will love learning the skills to think and speak on their feet. Impromptu speaking is one of the most valuable and commonly used communication skills—whether your child is meeting new people, answering questions in class, or explaining a topic on the spot. Yet, many children freeze or struggle to express their thoughts confidently when put on the spot. This class is designed to help your child overcome those challenges! LEARN - Discover the frameworks for impromptu speech that make thinking on your feet easier. - Learn how to manage nervousness and/speech anxiety. - Understand different types of impromptu speaking and how to interpret questions. - Learn daily positive communication habits to improve speaking confidence in any social or academic situation. DO - Practice techniques every week with fun, hands-on games and activities. - Work collaboratively with peers in an exciting, high-energy environment. - Receive individualized feedback that they will implement on the spot to ensure they are capturing and improving in each session. - Complete engaging weekly assignments designed to reinforce skills outside of class.
