This high energy, 2-hour workshop helps students learn exactly what to say—even when they don’t have time to prepare! Through interactive speaking games and guided challenges, students will practice organizing their thoughts quickly and responding with clarity and confidence! This workshop focuses on what to say and how to think on your feet. In this 5 day, 3-hours per day program, we will cover: - How to best PERFORM any kind of story! - How to conquer any level of NERVOUSNESS and become a more CONFIDENT storyteller! - The ELEMENTS of stories! - How to STRUCTURE and WRITE a story! - Different TYPES of stories from fiction, fantasy, stories about ourselves, motivational stories, and even news stories! - How to USE storytelling to enhance anything you do! Every day, the students will have multiple opportunities to practice what WE preach and receive feedback! Northern VA / DMV Area! We are back with the Ultimate IN-PERSON Communication Intensive for High School Students at our awesome Highest Speak Center in Reston, VA! Camp runs from 1:30–4:30 PM — perfect for high schoolers who like sleeping in during the summer! High school is when communication skills truly start to matter. Students are expected to participate in class discussions, present projects, interview for internships and leadership roles, collaborate in groups, and soon interview for college and jobs. Yet most students are rarely taught how to organize their ideas clearly, write strong arguments, and present them confidently! That’s exactly what this program focuses on. In this high-energy, 5-day program (3 hours per day) students will build powerful communication skills while having a TON of fun through engaging speaking challenges, interactive activities, and real-world scenarios. Students will practice both writing and presenting, learning how to develop ideas quickly and communicate them clearly in front of others. Throughout the week, students will learn how to: • Organize their ideas quickly and clearly • Write and structure short speeches effectively • Present their ideas with confidence and clarity • Think on their feet during impromptu speaking • Manage nervousness when speaking in front of others • Respond thoughtfully to unexpected questions • Develop stronger social communication skills and presence Students will practice both prepared speaking and impromptu speaking, which are critical skills for high school success. Do they have ideas they TRULY believe in and would love to voice? Do you just want to improve their overall speech confidence while they learn how to structure and present a speech? Well, this is THEIR moment! In this awesome 1/2 Day Camp, we will: - Review the fundamentals of effective speech PERFORMANCE; - Have discussions about various TEDx Talks topics or current events; - Analyze various TED Talks; - Play multiple public speaking games and work on public speaking quick speech assignments during the class; - Learn how to STRUCTURE a TEDX Speech; - Receive instructor feedback and/or peer feedback; and - Writing and present a final TEDx Talk chosen by the student! 🎤 Sky Divers: Intro to Debate (Grades 2–4) Who says 2nd–4th graders can’t learn debate? This fun and high-energy 6-week class introduces young students to the basics of debate in a way that feels playful, creative, and confidence-boosting. Students learn what debate is, how to listen to others, and how to share their ideas respectfully and clearly. Throughout the course, students practice building simple arguments, learning how to organize their thoughts using a kid-friendly structure, and explaining their ideas using strong reasons. They’ll also get experience delivering both written arguments and impromptu (on-the-spot) arguments, helping them think quickly and speak confidently. Through games, partner activities, silly prompts, and guided practice, students discover that speaking up can be fun—and that their ideas matter. Each child receives plenty of encouragement and individualized feedback to help them grow as thoughtful, confident communicators!

Even pitch their book?) - Learn the fundamentals of PERSUASIVE PITCHING - Learning how to create and structure an ELEVATOR PITCH - Practice explaining ideas clearly, confidently, and engagingly - Learn how to ANSWER QUESTIONS from a panel and think on their feet - Work COLLABORATIVELY to strengthen presentation skills - Build CONFIDENCE presenting to new audiences 🎉 End-of-Week Event: “Pitch and Product” Showcase! Students will present their ideas to a friendly panel of key community members (teachers, business owners, and more), who will watch, encourage, and provide positive, age-appropriate feedback!
