The Spotlight Project

In this after school class, the students will begin learning the basics of vocal and acting technique used in musical theater. The class will strengthen their creativity with theater based activities and games. They will practice things like auditioning, learning lines, projecting on stage, creating a character, and performing a solo. They will apply these lessons by rehearsing 1 musical together. At the end of the session, the students will perform the show they’ve worked on throughout the class! The price for this class is $354 per student. This price includes weekly after school classes and participation in dress rehearsal/final show. The tuition does not include additional costume fees or reserved ticket fees. DATES: Tuesdays, Jan 21-April 29 (no class March 11) (Final Dress Rehearsal and Final Show on last day of class) CLASS TIME: 3:30-5pm SNACK BREAK INCLUDED- Pack an extra snack on Tuesdays!!!

CAMP DETAILS -June 16-20 -ages 5-6 -9am-Noon (bring snack & water bottle) -Theme: Wizard of Oz -Friday performance at 11am -Location: MDPC (11612 Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77024) -Room: Amphitheater ABOUT THE CAMP: -Campers take daily dance, singing, and acting class -Campers audition and rehearse a musical theater show throughout the week -Daily craft time and games -Every student gets the opportunity to have a singing solo and acting line in the show! -Performance on Friday for family and friends  -Students with and without disabilities welcomed! Camp is located at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. Park by Community Life Center. Drop off and Pick up at the Amphitheater. NOTE ABOUT INCLUSION/TEACHER AIDS: Students should participate independently for most of the camp activities. Volunteers and teachers will be present to assist when needed! Camps are staffed with 1 lead teacher, 1 assistant teachers, and 1-2 volunteers per 12 campers. Maximum of ~12 students in this age bracket. We do not have a nurse on staff. We are not certified to administer prescription medication. All students MUST be able to use the restroom by themselves.
