Join us for this weekly painting classs for all ages! Our teacher will guide you through a step-by-step acrylic on canvas painting, but if you want to add your own ideas and personality to your painting - we encourage it! This is a class for all, both children and adults are welcome! We will be painting on an 11x14 stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

This week, we're diving into the vibrant world of color with an exciting project featuring children under umbrellas, using a mixed media collage of ink, watercolor, and pastels. As we create these fun images, we'll explore the workings of the color wheel, helping students master color theory and mixing while simultaneously refining their drawing skills. This engaging and educational approach not only allows students to understand primary, secondary, and complementary colors, but also encourages the development of practical art skills, blending creativity with technical learning in a fun and artistic way! Perfect class for children ages 7-9 years old. 90-min class Children will be exposed to a variety of mediums and work on building up new skills.

Inspired by nature and Earth Day, students will learn how to create a simple, colorful, pointillism project. They will learn the technique of applying small dots of pure color, and allowing the human eye to optically mix the paint. This weekly 2-hour class is a great option for kids looking to move ahead with their artistic talents. The students are given more independence and freedom to be creative with the projects. Projects often run for 3-4 weeks to give students the extra time to create a really impressive piece. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

In the skunk-themed drawing and painting activity, students will refine a variety of skills essential for artistic development. They will enhance their observational skills by closely examining images of skunks and floral gardens, which will aid in accurately rendering these subjects in their art. The project also focuses on developing drawing skills, as students learn to simplify complex images into basic shapes and outlines through guided steps. Additionally, using watercolors will immerse students in color theory, enabling them to experiment with color mixing and application to achieve depth and realism. This activity will also improve their fine motor skills, as precise hand movements are crucial for both drawing and painting techniques. Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-6 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes throughout the school-year!
